WATERCOLOUR — INTERACTIVE
ALLUMINOUS
An interactive light and water installation where visitors become part of the work.
Become part of the image
Watercolour turns flowing water into a living surface for light, colour and projection. In the interactive edition, visitors help shape what appears on the cascade.
Vintage scanners capture objects placed on the glass. Generative software built in TouchDesigner transforms these scans into patterns and colours projected onto the moving water. Each contribution becomes part of a changing image.
Light in constant motion
The water never holds an image still. Its ripples and flow continually distort the projection, bringing together the visitor’s input and the movement of the installation.
Presented at Alluminous, this edition invites the audience to explore, play and become co-creators. The interaction connects a familiar everyday object — the scanner — with an unexpected, fluid canvas.
A circulating resource
Watercolour reflects on the beauty and fragility of water. The installation collects, filters and recirculates its water in a closed loop. Its modular construction can be adapted to different locations and designed for disassembly and reuse.
