Fast Fashion Frames

Fast Fashion Frames is a large-scale kinetic wind sculpture that brings animation to life using the power of nature. The installation consists of 24 frames, each representing a single frame of a one-second animation. These frames, measuring 4x4 meters each, are placed in sequence with a 50 cm gap between them, forming a striking 12x4x4 meter structure elevated on 3-meter-high poles.

At the core of this artwork is movement—both visually and physically. The frames are made from fine mesh, interwoven with fabric scraps that flutter and shift in the wind, creating a dynamic, ever-changing composition. These textiles come from fast fashion waste streams, repurposing discarded materials into a vibrant display of color and texture. By highlighting fashion industry waste—one of the world’s largest environmental challenges—this piece serves as both a spectacle and a statement on overconsumption.

As night falls, the installation transforms. LED bars illuminate each frame, allowing the animation to come alive through sequential lighting effects. By using chases, the animation can be “played” in a mesmerizing rhythm, adding an extra layer of depth to the experience.

This work is a tribute to transformation—of wind into motion, waste into art, and stillness into animation. It invites viewers to witness how discarded materials, set in motion by nature, can become something new, beautiful, and thought-provoking.
